Hawaii 2011

If you’re not careful life can pass you by pretty quickly. Last year we realized that we hadn’t been on a real vacation since our honeymoon 8 years ago. Of course, moving across the country twice in two years kind of eats into the accumulated vacation time and the budget, but I digress. Having this realization, we were determined to book ourselves a real vacation. We finally decided we just wanted, and probably needed, a relaxing, do nothing, beach vacation, so we chose to go back to Hawaii, specifically the island of Oahu. Oh, and since our birthdays are only 3 days apart, we decided to go celebrate the week of my 35th, and Erica’s 29th, birthdays. ;-)

It had been about 10 years since we last visited Oahu but we really decided to go back because we had already seen the sights and visited the tourist attractions and felt that we could go back and not feel guilty doing a whole bunch of nothing. With that decided, we booked a stay at the North shore resort, Turtle Bay. We also splurged a little and booked one of the beach front cottages instead of a room in the main hotel, and we were glad we did! The resort was great, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, the beaches were beautiful and since we really tried hard to do nothing, I don’t have much else to say, so I’ll just let you enjoy a few of our best pictures. :-)
