Entertainment Center 5: The Drawer

Yes, I’m still not done with the entertainment center…

It’s a good thing I didn’t make woodworking my career. I think it has been almost a year since I started this project. I’d have to charge like $100,000 for this piece just to break even. I haven’t been working full time on this of course, but still, I really need to get this done. There’s just a couple of more things to complete though, and this weekend it was the center drawer.

This step was pretty simple really. I started out with cutting all of the pieces to the proper height and length.

Then rabbeted the front and back pieces to accept the sides and added another rabbet to all four pieces to accept the bottom of the drawer.

Glued, clamped, and screwed it all together.

Gluing And Clamping

Attached the drawer slides to the drawer and the carcass.


And before I knew it, the drawer was done!
